Friends, meet my parents, Ken & Linda Santoro. They are in the final stretch of a community capital campaign to raise money for the second location of Caffe Santoro the coffee shop that they own and operate in Cameron Park. There’s just 6 days left and they are just half-way past their goal of $20,000.
My parents are two of the hardest working people I know, and likely to blame for my own journey into the indie lifestyle. They have been small business owners for as long as I can remember, which means that I don’t really know any other way of life. When I was a kid I spent hours doing homework, playing, sometimes sleeping, and ultimately working in the printshop that my parents owned. They have now owned Caffe Santoro for seven years.
They took over an existing coffee shop and turned it into a thriving community hub. My dad is the one who is there on a daily basis and he’s known for infusing life into the Caffe Santoro motto: coffee with personality. It’s a motto that he proudly champions by not only greeting each guest enthusiastically by name, but also by training his staff of young people, many of them high schoolers, to treat each other and their guests with the same enthusiasm and love that he demonstrates. My dad often says that he’s not in the coffee business, he’s in the people business.
If supporting local business is your jam, consider contributing to Caffe Santoro’s Community Sourced Capital campaign as a Squareholder with a micro-loan as little as $50. Check out the campaign details and more of the Caffe Santoro story here , csc.rocks/caffe-santoro.
